This year, here at MOMS® Club we are adopting a family from Families Forward. Families Forward is our local non-profit community supported agency. Each year it provides an abundance of services to Families that might find themselves struggling. Of those services, adopting a family is one option. To adopt a family means to pledge and guarantee to fulfill the Holiday wish-list of the pertinent family.
Here at MOMS® Club Irvine-Central we believe in being charitable to others and we believe that our children can and will learn a great deal from that. I have to say it is very uplifting to see what a caring group we've got going here. As soon as the Families Forward wish-list went out to our members, they moved into action! The response we received was incredible. I just have to say we are going to make our adoptive family, one happy family this Holiday Season!
I wish I could recognize all our charitable donors by name, here, on our blog but alas one must follow club policy.
Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Holidays! :)

Great news everyone!
Our MOMS Club garage sale was a huge success. We raised about $1,400 dollars to benefit (1) the International MOMS Club Mother-to-Mother Fund and (2) Not For Sale: A Campaign to End Human Trafficking and Slavery.
A great big hug and well deserved thanks goes out to everyone; our volunteers and shoppers alike, without you none of this could have been made possible.

Each box contains a selection of seasonal organic fruit and vegetable produce, enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 for a week.
Some suggestions for coping, if the amount of produce or price proves too much for you is splitting the box with another member!
Contact a board member TODAY, if you'd like to sign up or get more information. First delivery is set to occur July 21st. Get the word out maybe your neighbor wants a box too! :)

Sprinklers, slip-and-slide, ice cream parties and bubble shows.
Aww, the sounds of summer.
The children shout's of joy and sometimes not.
Jump, skip, shout, cry until the wee hours of the night.
I see the orange hews of fire as it dances to and fro
soon followed by the rumbling stampede of children running to the ring-side to toast (sometimes burn) their marshmallows for the making of smores.
I do love Southern California. In-spite the fact that lately our July has been more like June, gloom that is.
Our community celebrated our country's Independence with great pride and success this past 4th. A group of our MOMS members gathered to participate in a community wide parade, the children slapped on their patriotic gear and tricked out their rides; trike's, bikes and strollers that is, training wheels and all.
Speaking of happy things...the first fundraiser of the 2010-2011 board was a great success, raising close to 200 dollars for our charities.
Next up, in the works, is a community garage sale where our members can expect to be rid of all those old toys, out-grown strollers and jammies, etc. etc. For more information about this upcoming fundraiser or if you'd like to donate one of your items contact one of the board members.
Being summer and all, back to school is ever-always just around the corner...MOMS Club Irvine-Central will once again be doing a back to school drive as its become almost a tradition, an annual service project.
Lastly I will leave you with a crafty project idea for the summer months.
That's right! Shadow Puppets!
Easy to make and comes with hours of fun.
You can find printable's online, or simply take a coloring book copy any favorite image onto hard construction paper & cut out the image. Glue a Popsicle stick to your cut-out. Grab a flashlight and Walla! you are ready to create your own production with your little ones.
