Summer time.

Summer is in full swing.
Sprinklers, slip-and-slide, ice cream parties and bubble shows.
Aww, the sounds of summer.
The children shout's of joy and sometimes not.
Jump, skip, shout, cry until the wee hours of the night.
I see the orange hews of fire as it dances to and fro
soon followed by the rumbling stampede of children running to the ring-side to toast (sometimes burn) their marshmallows for the making of smores.

I do love Southern California. In-spite the fact that lately our July has been more like June, gloom that is.

Our community celebrated our country's Independence with great pride and success this past 4th. A group of our MOMS members gathered to participate in a community wide parade, the children slapped on their patriotic gear and tricked out their rides; trike's, bikes and strollers that is, training wheels and all.

Speaking of happy things...the first fundraiser of the 2010-2011 board was a great success, raising close to 200 dollars for our charities.

Next up, in the works, is a community garage sale where our members can expect to be rid of all those old toys, out-grown strollers and jammies, etc. etc. For more information about this upcoming fundraiser or if you'd like to donate one of your items contact one of the board members.

Being summer and all, back to school is ever-always just around the corner...MOMS Club Irvine-Central will once again be doing a back to school drive as its become almost a tradition, an annual service project.

Lastly I will leave you with a crafty project idea for the summer months.

SHADOW PUPPETS.
That's right! Shadow Puppets!
Easy to make and comes with hours of fun.
You can find printable's online, or simply take a coloring book copy any favorite image onto hard construction paper & cut out the image. Glue a Popsicle stick to your cut-out. Grab a flashlight and Walla! you are ready to create your own production with your little ones.
Enjoy!
